About Squids-In
Built by a family, for families
Squids-In started at home. We wanted our own children to understand how money grows, long before they had much of it. So we built short lessons, a friendly investing game, and a way for parents to stay in the loop.
Our children test it first
Our own children were the first to use Squids-In, and they still are. They tell us what’s boring, what’s confusing and what’s fun, and the app changes because of it.
There are 130 lessons for children aged 10 and up, from needs and wants to index funds. Parents can take the same lessons on a track of their own, so you know what your child is learning and can talk it through.
We’re independent. No bank or investment provider is behind us, and we answer to the families who use Squids-In.
What we believe
Keep it simple, give it time. None of these ideas are new, and they work best when you start young.
Start early
Time is the biggest help a young investor has. A little now can do more than a lot later.
Keep it simple
Low-cost funds that spread money across many companies, so no single one can sink you.
Let time do the work
Growth builds on growth. Stay invested through the ups and downs and let the years add up.
Learn by trying
In the Island Market, children pick companies and see how they do against the steady fund. Mistakes cost only game money.
What Squids-In is, and isn’t
Education, not advice
We teach how investing works. We don’t recommend investments or tell you what to buy.
Your money stays with you
We never hold or move money. Real Junior ISAs and Junior SIPPs stay with you and your provider.
Game money for practice
In the game, children invest pretend money in made-up companies, so a mistake costs nothing but game money.
Where we are now
We’re testing with a small group of families. It’s free during the beta, on Android, iPhone and the web.
